Drive Up Through Your Legs
A shape about leg drive. A thought about electricity. Hand built one Saturday after my first Olympic Weightlifting class, while standing on jelly legs.

This piece is inspired by learning the importance of leg drive in lifting heavy weights, and being in awe of the power generated between the floor and the sole of your foot. Combined with focused and specific technique, this force then travels through your body to help you lift an incredibly heavy weight.
A ring of reverence surrounds any successful lift, especially as you find yourself at the top end of it – it fits your psyche as a crown would. There is an unmatched sense of relief and understanding that comes from this physical experience, particularly when you decide to put the heavy weight down at the end of it all.
This personal pursuit of physical strength is a direct mirroring of my call to prioritise softness towards myself and others.
